The Thumbs Up! Stores Program helps customers of community stores identify the healthier food items with The Good Tucker App and a suite of signage displayed in the store.
Participating stores include ALPA (Arnhem Land Progress Aboriginal Corporation) and Outback Stores, who manage over 150 remote community stores. They display healthy food signage of a green thumbs up on fresh fruit and vegetables, drinking water and selected healthy food items, making the good food much easier to identify. Other signage also points customers to the products that are not so healthy by using the red Thumbs down image.
All Outback and ALPA Stores across NT, Far North Queensland, WA and SA, have displayed Thumbs Up! signage since 2010 and both chains have experienced growth in fresh food sales.
CEQ and other stores in Far North Queensland & Cape York continue to display the Thumbs Up! Signage and also enjoying good sales of healthy, fresh food.
